Quartz Powder

Ground quartz with a controlled mesh, stable brightness, and a clean particle-size curve.

Fine white quartz powder beside coarser crystals

The grade

Quartz powder is ground SiO2 for lines that care about mesh, brightness, and a clean particle-size curve. Paint, coatings, engineered stone, ceramics, adhesives, and rubber all use it as a filler or a body component. They do not all use the same cut.

What a plant buyer is purchasing is control. The mesh has to be the one the formulation was built on. Brightness has to stay put, or a white coating drifts. The curve has to drop the coarse tail that reads as grit. Iron has to stay low enough that the powder does not tint the film, the slab, or the compound.

Skylark Exports supplies that ground quartz against the mesh and the brightness standard you name. The ranges here are typical for this grade family. They are not a certificate of analysis. Send the mesh, the iron limit, and the packing you need, and compare the current sheet before you scale up.

What buyers check

  • Mesh held to the cut the coating, stone, or ceramic line was qualified on
  • Brightness stable enough to keep a white or clear formulation on shade
  • A particle-size curve without a coarse tail that shows in the film or the slab
  • Low iron so the powder stays clean in paint, adhesive, and rubber

Applications

  • Paints and coatings

Coatings use ground quartz, kaolin, and calcined kaolin for mesh, brightness, and opacity in the film.

  • Ceramics and tile

Tile, sanitaryware, and tableware plants use clay, feldspar, silica, and quartz so the body stays plastic and the fire stays predictable.

  • Rubber and plastics

Rubber, plastics, and cable compounds use kaolin, calcined kaolin, and quartz powder as controlled fillers.

Packing

  • 25 kg bags, typical export packing, still to confirm
  • 50 kg bags, typical export packing, still to confirm
  • 1 MT jumbo bags, typical export packing, still to confirm

Questions buyers ask

Which mesh of quartz powder is typical?

Coating, engineered-stone, ceramic, adhesive, and rubber lines are usually qualified on a named mesh, often 200 or 325, sometimes finer. The right cut is the one your formulation already uses. Tell us that mesh. Typical cuts are listed here only as a starting point, not as a certificate.

How do you describe brightness?

Brightness is compared with the standard your plant already approved. A ground quartz should stay on that shade from lot to lot. This page does not publish a brightness number, because a number without your method is not useful.

Why does the particle-size curve matter?

A coarse tail shows up as grit in a film, a slab, or a glaze. Buyers look for a clean curve around the mesh they named, not only a single sieve passing figure. Ask for the curve with the typical sheet when you request a quote.

How is quartz powder packed?

Typical export packing is 25 kg bags, 50 kg bags, or 1 MT jumbo bags. Which of those Skylark offers is still to be confirmed. Name the packing and the quantity in the inquiry. This page does not list ports or countries.
